achtung: our city– Max Frisch and the urban design of tomorrow

Talk and discussion:
Wednesday, 15 March 2017, 18.00

In the 1950s, Max Frisch, together with Markus Kutter and Lucius Burckhardt, triggered a lively debate on issues concerning urban design and land-use planning: What will the city of the future look like? What influence will the citizens have on their city’s planning? Even today, a good sixty years on, their questions are as current as ever. At ETH Zurich, experts and decision-makers from architecture and urban design will discuss Max Frisch as an idea provider and the urban design of tomorrow. A new edition of the highly influential works wir selber bauen unsre Stadt (1953), achtung: die Schweiz (1955) and die neue Stadt (1956) will also be presented.
